Rare pair of German Salt-Species Cellars.

An important matching pair of oversized salt and spicy cellars, created in Germany in the 19th century, circa 1870. These beautiful pieces has been carefully crafted in a three-dimensional triangle shape, with beautiful Neo-Classic patterns in solid .800/.999 silver and 24 karats gilding.

The three sides on each piece are completely embellished, with chiseled mythological and organic designs, caryatides at the corners and mounted in three rounds sabots. 

Weight: They have a combined of 409.9 Grams (262.76 Dwt).

Measures: 120 mm by 120 mm by 60 mm (4.75 x 4.74 x 2.36 Inches)

Hallmarks: Each one is stamped on the underneath, with multiples German marks, the maker's mark, the city of origin, the silver assay mark and signed, "GERMANY .800".

ConditionThe overall condition of this pair is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The 24Kt gild is secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
