GAY FRERES 1960 Paris Felines Necklace In 18Kt Yellow Gold With Emeralds

This is a beautiful statement necklace created in Paris France at the jewelry atelier of Gay Freres, back in the 1960's. The terrific retro modernist necklace is made up of two feline heads, which look at each other and are holding a big ring with their jaws. It was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with textured finish and attached to two carvings and a round-links chain. The eyes of the felines are embellished with four natural Colombian emeralds and the chains are fitted with a security lobster lock.
Emeralds: The eyes are mounted, with 4 round cabochon cut of natural Colombian green emeralds, with a total weight of about 0.20 Carats.
Weight: 59.85 Grams (38.40 Dwt).
Length: 16.5 Inches (41.90 Cm) and the chain may be shortened or enlarged to fit the neck.
Measures: At the widest part is 18 mm (0.72 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the eagle's head for the assay and warranty of the .750/.999 gold, the maker's maitre cartouche GF associated to Gay Freres and signed as follows, "GF FRANCE 18KT".
