*French-Austrian 1920 by Philippe Turk Art Deco geometric tank bracelet in 18 kt yellow gold
Art-Deco tank bracelet designed by Philipp Turk.
A beautiful geometric piece from the Austrian art deco period, made at the Viennese atelier of Philipp Turk circa 1925-1930. This bracelet was crafted, with tank patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and the surfaces are finished with high polish.
The design is composed by multiples flexible links attached together by invisibles pins and is suited, with a push lock, with a hinged figure 8 for extra security.
It is s pretty heavy, with a total weight of 82.2 grams and a length of 7.25 inches. The width measure is 23 mm (0.90 inch).
Stamped, with French import marks, the maker's maitre cartouche PT for Philipp Turk and the gold assay hallmark, 18 kt.
Note: immediately after the first world war, the creation of jewelry with geometric patterns inspired by the tracks of the war tanks became very fashionable. The synthesis of these designs were adapted during the art deco period and after the post-war.
It is a nice collector's piece in great condition, with all the original antique patina intact.
