FRED PARIS 1970 Enameled Sauvage Lion Brooch In 18Kt Yellow Gold With Emeralds

Seated lion brooch designed by Fred of Paris.

This whimsical brooch is one of the most iconic designs by the jewelry house of Fred Paris. This model was created in Paris France back in the 1970 and crafted in the shape of a seated lion in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with textured finish. The beautiful lion is embellished with applications of black, red and white glass enamel and the eyes are mounted with two natural Colombian emeralds. It is fitted at the reverse with a hinged vertical pin bar and a trombone security lock.

Emeralds: The eyes are mounted in bezel settings, with 2 pear faceted cuts of natural green emeralds with a total weight of about 0.12 carats.

Weight: 15.45 grams, (9.92 Dwt).

Measurements: 33 mm by 26 mm by 13 mm (1.30 x 1.02 x 0.11 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with several French marks, the maker's mark Ste. K (Societe K) inside a lozenge cartouche, the mark of the eagle for the assay and warranty of the 18kt and engraved with the signature as follows, "FRED PARIS .750".
