IMPRESSIVE PORCELAIN URN VASE MADE BY MEISSEN.
AN ANTIQUE "Schlangenvasen" PORCELAIN PIECE FROM THE LATE XIX CENTURY, CRAFTED IN GERMANY AROUND THE 1900'S. THIS MODEL WAS DESIGNED BY ERNST AUGUST IN THE 1861.
MADE IN TWO INDIVIDUAL PIECES ATTACHED TOGETHER BY A SCREW, AS USUAL. AN OVOID BODY WITH RAISED HAND LEAVES PAIR IN THE FORM OF ACANTHUS WINDING SERPENTS. IS MOUNTED IN A ROUND BASE, DECORATED WITH COBALT BLUE GLAZE AND HAND FINISHED WITH 24 KARATS GOLD GILDING ACCENTS.
THIS PIECE HAVE A MEASURES OF 15.5 BY 9.75 Inches.
MARKED IN THE BOTTOM, UNDER GLAZED WITH THE BLUE POMMEL SWORD SEAL OF MEISSEN, CORRESPONDING TO THE PERIOD OF 1860 TO 1924.
IN GREAT CONDITION WITH SOME OF THE GOLD PLATING PARTIALLY SLIGHTLY TAPPED
