Sculptural pair of clips-earrings designed by Emil Meister.
An intricate three-dimensional vintage pieces made in Zurich, Switzerland after the war during the mid-century period, circa 1950-1960. This sculptural pair has been created, with free-forms brutalism patterns by the famous jeweler Emil Meister. Totally crafted as a one-of-a-kind pieces, in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and palladium.
Designed as a mirrored pair and suited at the reverse, with comfortable omega backs for fastening clips. The optional posts for pierced ears can be easily added.
The main elements are two fancy faceted cuts carvings of natural vivid purple Amethysts, with a total weight of 20 carats.
The palladium parts are embellished, with an impeccable gradated (.03 to 0.10) pave setting of 28 round European brilliant cut diamonds, with a total weight of 1.12 carats E/F color, VS-2 clarity.
They are pretty large, with a weight of 55.9 grams and a measures of 39 mm by 30 mm by 18 mm (1.56 by 1.22 by 0.70 Inches).
Both are stamped, with the maker's mark, the Swiss assay hallmarks and signed, "EM .750".
The Meister company was founded in 1881 by the goldsmith Emil Meister, as the Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich still looked like a wide country road lined with trees, with the building of the first street-car lines, the Horse-tram (Rösslitram), started in the Bahnhofstrasse.
