Egyptian pendant-brooch designed by Elizabeth Gage.

Magnificent pendant-brooch, created in London by the British jewelry designer Elizabeth Gage, back in the 1990. This rare piece of jewelry has been carefully crafted with Egyptians motifs in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with textured, polished and hammered finishes. Embellished with geometric Egyptians triangle figures which are decorated in inlaid with black enamel. It is fitted at the reverse with a hinged vertical pin and a trombone security lock to wear as a pendant or a brooch. The craftmanship developed in this piece is amazing, precise and meticulous, featuring the outstanding carved tourmalines and the natural colorless diamonds.

Tourmaline: Mount in a bezel setting, with 1 special cabochon carved in the shape of the portrait of queen Nefertiti, cut from a bi-coloured tourmaline of 65.66 carats.

Tourmaline: Mount in a bezel setting, with oval cabochon cut (16 x 29 x 12 mm) carved from an  incredible vivid reddish-pink tourmaline of 46.19 carats.

Diamonds: Mount in bezel settings, with 5 round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.14 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity.

Ruby: Mount in a cased bezel setting, with 1 square faceted cut red ruby of 0.15 carats.

Birthstone: Tourmaline for the month of October.

Weight: 61.95 grams (39.81 Dwt.).

Measures: 80 mm by 51 mm by 17 mm (3.15 x 2.0 x 0.67 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with British marks; the mark of the lion for the city of London, the maker's mark EG associated to Elizabeth Gage, the letter Q for the production year of 1990, the mark for the gold assay and signed in full, "©GAGE .750 Q. EG SGDG".

Elizabeth Gage 

She is a British jewelry designer and trained master goldsmith who has been creating collectable jewelry for over 50 years. She has been described by the trade as someone "whose large rings, historical references, gorgeous stones and elaborate craftsmanship set the tone for a whole generation". Elizabeth Gage works in 18 and 22 carat gold. Her 'Helios' gold necklace, featured in Tatler magazine, took 203 grams of gold and 93 man hours to create. Elizabeth’s approach to design is as unique as the jewels themselves. She combines different elements in her work which she chooses for their individual beauty; exquisite stones, ancient bronzes, beautiful carvings, baroque pearls, in fact anything where the shape and colour inspire her.
