A British desk magnifier loupe from the Edwardian Period.

This is a beautiful continental magnifier desk-loupe created in England during the Edwardian period, back in the 1900's. The loupe has been crafted with parts made up in solid bronze with high polished finish, carved wood and optical glass. Fitted with a handle carved in the shape of a baluster

The Edwardian period

This period roughly span between 1901 and 1910, is characterized by a shift from the ornate, heavy Victorian style to a lighter, more refined aesthetic in furniture and architecture. Woods like mahogany, along with lighter materials such as bamboo and wicker, became popular, reflecting the era's preference for a breezy, delicate look.
