*Ed Wiener 1970 New York hammered 18 kt yellow gold bracelet with textured links
A bracelet designed by Ed Wiener (1918-1991).
Beautiful modernist art-piece, created in New York city by Wiener at his atelier, located in 53th street & 5th avenue, back in the 1970's
This is an unique one-of-a-kind links bracelet, crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and finished with hammered patterns. Suited with a hinged slashed safety lock.
Has a total weight of 34.5 grams and a length of 8.5 inches (21.5 Cm). The width measure is 5.5 mm.
Stamped, with the Ed Wiener maker's logo, the gold assay hallmarks and signed, "EW .750".
Ed Wiener (1918-1991), began his career in the artist's circles of the post-Bauhaus. Was very active at Provincetown and the Greenwich village in New York. Work immediately in the early days of the abstract expressionist movement of the post-war period, late 1940's. His most famous customers was the sculptor Louise Nevelson and Martha Graham, the dancer. He worked extensively in sterling silver until the beginning of the 1950 when he made a lot of sculptural pieces of jewelry in gold with precious gemstones.
Note: This piece has been created by the lost wax method, a favorite technique by Wiener.
