*Dinh Van 1970 Paris very rare Prototype of long sautoir necklace in 18 kt yellow gold
Rare prototype sautoir designed by Jean Dinh Van.
Imposing sculptural and sleek piece created in Paris in 1970. It was designed as a rectangular cushion by Dinh Van. Produced as a prototype piece for the collection he created between the 1968 and 1972 for the house of Cartier. Carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with very high polished surfaces. Suited at top with his iconic squared hoop to be hold into the chain of 31 inches.
This is a very sophisticate and extremely rare piece.
Have a total weight of 64.96 Grams and the chain have a length of 31 Inches, (78.75 Cm).
The drop cushioned pendant have a measures of 71 mm by 51 mm by 10 mm (2.8 x 2 x 0.40 Inches)
Stamped with very clear French hallmarks; the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of 18 kt gold, the maker's maitre cartouche Ste DDV (Societe Jean Dinh Van), associated to the Dinh Van atelier, the production year and signed, "DINH VAN 1970".
Jean Dinh Van is a French designer that began is successful career in the 1960 designing for the French jewelry houses of Cartier and Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible. Dinh Van pieces are very fashionable, sophisticate and easy to wear, also can be displayed as a small toys, sculptures and "Objets du Vertu".
Note: We have not been able to locate another piece similar to this one, only a smaller similar one in the shape of a square cushion designed for the Cartier house to be produced in the 70's.
