Graduated coral necklace designed by David Webb (1925-1975).

Very nice necklace with three layers of graduated corals, created in New York city at the jewelry atelier of David Webb, back in the late 1960. This statement necklace was carefully crafted as a nest, in solid rich yellow gold of 18 karats with textured finish. Mounted in the center with one great chunk piece of carvel coral and embellished around with eleven natural earth mined diamonds.

DiamondsMounted in a four-prongs setting, with 11 round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.63 carats, white colorless F/G color, VS-2 clarity.

CoralMounted in the center in a bezel setting, with round cabochon (23 x 23 x 15.5 mm) of a red coral with 59.33 carats.

CoralAttached to three strands, with 214 graduated (7mm to 4 mm) beads of natural coral.

Weight: 76.85 grams (49.26 Dwt.).

Size: Fit a neck up to 16 Inches, (40.64 Cm). This necklace can be enlarged adding coral beads or shortened removing coral beads.

Measurements: The main decorative element is 36 mm by 27 mm by 25.2 mm (1.42 x 1.06 by 1.0 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the designer's maker mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and platinum and signed, "©DAVID WEBB 18KT WEBB".

David Webb 

He was an American jeweler. On July 28, 1948, he founded David Webb, the company, which opened at 2 West 46th Street. Among his clients were Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis  and Barbara Streisand and Beyoncé have also worn his jewelry. Born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1925, Webb was a self-taught designer whose work included dragon bracelets, Maltese cross brooches and animal motifs. In 1964, The Duke of Windsor purchased a bracelet for his wife. Diana Vreeland, a noted columnist and editor of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, was often seen with a David Webb black-and-white enamel zebra bangle.

ConditionThe overall condition of this necklace is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
