Door knocker earrings designed by David Webb (1925-1975).

Beautiful American classic pair, created in New York City at the jewelry atelier of David Webb during the mid-20th Century period, back in the 1960. These clips-on earrings has been crafted with twisted organic patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with textured finish. Mount with a great selection of natural earth-mined diamonds and fitted with comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips. The addition of posts can be easily done.

Diamonds: Mount in four-prongs settings, with 14 round brilliant cut diamonds, 2.24 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-2 clarity.

Weight: 22.95 Grams (14.71 Dwt).

Measurements: 30 mm by 22 mm (1.18 x 0.87 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the gold assay mark and signed, "WEBB 18 KT DAVID WEBB".

David Webb (1925-1975), was an American jeweler. On July 28, 1948, he founded David Webb, the company, which opened at 2 West 46th Street. Among his clients were Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis  and Barbara Streisand and Beyoncé have also worn his jewelry. Born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1925, Webb was a self-taught designer whose work included dragon bracelets, Maltese cross brooches and animal motifs. In 1964, The Duke of Windsor purchased a bracelet for his wife. Diana Vreeland, a noted columnist and editor of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, was often seen with a David Webb black-and-white enamel zebra bangle.

ConditionThe overall condition of this pair is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All diamonds are secured in the settings. These earrings has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
