A statement pair of clips-on earrings, created by the renowned jewelry house of Verdura, back in the late 1960's. These vintage ear-clips are collector's pieces and has been carefully crafted with twisted wires and spikes in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The earrings are embellished with thirty-six natural earth mined diamonds and are fitted at the reverse with very comfortable French hinged omega backs for fastening clips. The addition of gold posts for pierced ears can be easily done.
Diamonds: Mounted in four-prongs settings, with 36 calibrated round brilliant cuts diamonds, 3.24 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity.
Weight: Combined of 19.95 Grams, (12.79 Dwt).
Measurements: 26 mm by 23 mm by 8 mm (1.02 x 0.91 x 0.31 Inches).
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "VERDURA .750 18kt".
Verdura
The Duke Fulco Di Verdura (1899-1978) start his career as a designer in Paris in 1920, Creating the iconic Maltese cross cuff bracelet for his friend Coco Chanel. In the 1934 he moved to the United States and closely collaborate with Paul Flato in California, designing jewelry for the Hollywood stars of the new movie era, including Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. In the 1939, he moved again, but this time to the city of New York and open the Verdura boutique, in the Fifth Avenue location. in that period Verdura gain the estimation of the very high-profile clientele in the new York's high society.
