Beautiful and elegant sleek piece, created in Paris France by the house of Chaumet. This very special necklace, was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with very high polished finish. Suited, with a discrete push lock and a hinged slash fold over for extra security.
Mounted, with 20 calibrated French squared step cuts (5 x 5 x 3 mm) of natural vivid purple Tanzanite with a combined weight of 12.80 carats.
Has a weight of 82.95 Grams and a length of 16 Inches (40.5 Cm).
Stamped, with French and British hallmarks; the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the 18 kt gold, the maker's cartouche, the London import mark with letter a for the importation date of 2000 and signed in full, "CHAUMET PARIS .750 377044".
Chaumet, was founded by the French born jeweler, Marie-Etienne Ninot. He began his career as an assistant court-jeweler to the queen Marie Antoinette. In 1780, he moved to Paris and founded the house of Chaumet, and was appointed as jeweler to emperor Napoleon in 1802. During this period, Ninot became one of the most popular jewelers in Europe, establishing a loyal and continuous prestigious clientele. today the house remains as a luxury jewelry house under the name Chaumet Paris.
