An exceptional abstract brooch, created in Roma Italy by the fine jewelry house of Cazzaniga, back in the 1970. This brooch has been crafted in the shape of an irregular leaf, with intricate patterns of baroque revival in solid gold of 18 karats, yellow and white. Finished with incised and textured patterns, and is fitted at the reverse with one double hinged pin bars and a trombone security lock. Can be wear as a brooch or as a pendant in a chain or a pearls necklace.
The craftsmanship of this piece is impeccable and has been constructed by several pieces attached together by special screws. It is embellished with a great selection of natural earth mined diamonds.
Diamonds: Mount in a pave setting, with 108 round brilliant cut diamonds, 4.80 carats, white colorless F/G color, VS-2 clarity.
Diamonds: Bezel set, with 5 pear brilliant cut diamonds, 1.45 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity.
Weight: 26.70 Grams, (17.12 Dwt).
Measurements: 56 mm by 41 mm (2.20 by 1.61 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark AL, the Italian control mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed in full, "CAZZANIGA ROMA .750 AL *219RO".
Cazzaniga was founded in Rome in the 1929 by Angelo Giorgio Cazzaniga (1908-1973) in a place close to the famous Trevi fountain. Today, since the 1973 his son, Paolo Cazzaniga run the business. Still located in Rome but in a new location, 18 Passeggiata di Ripetta. Gazzaniga's salon is now by appointment, continuing to create only, one of a kind pieces for a very select clientele.
Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this brooch is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All diamonds are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
