Fabulous and very rare elephant brooch, created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Cartier. This gorgeous piece has been made in a very limited edition and is related to the art deco Mughal collections created by the Maison, back in the 1920's. It was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The standing elephant is decorated with three hanging chains and embellished with an exceptional assortment of two-hundred-ninety-four natural earth mined gemstones such white colorless diamonds, vivid green emeralds and rare pigeon blood rubies. They have a combined weight of 5.24 carats. It is fitted at the reverse, with hinged double pin bars and a mechanical security trombone lock. This can be also used as a pendant in a chain.
Diamonds: Mounted in pave settings, with 291 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 2.92 carats, white colorless D/E color, VVS-2 clarity.
Ruby: Mounted in a bezel setting, with 1 pear brilliant cut vivid red ruby of 0.25 carats.
Ruby: The forehead of the elephant is mount in a bezel setting, with 1 French square inverted Caliber-cut vivid red ruby of 0.06 carats.
Emerald: Mount in a bar setting, with 1 round bead of 7.5 mm carved from a natural Colombian green emerald, with an estimate weight of 2 carats.
Emerald: The eye of the elephant is mount in a bezel setting, with 1 round brilliant cut of a natural Colombian vivid green emeralds of 0.01 carats.
Birthstone: Rubies, for the month of July and emerald for May.
Weight: 23.80 Grams, (15.27 Dwt).
Measurements: 32 mm by 28 mm by 13.5 mm (1.26 x 1.02 x 0.53 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks; the maker's mark Ste. F inside a lozange cartouche, the mark of the eagle for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold, the six digits serial numbers and signed in full, "CARTIER .750 646765 14".
