This is a beautiful vintage pair of earrings created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Cartier, back in the late 1970's. The classic earrings were masterfully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish and embellished on top with eight cabochons carved from vivid blue sapphires and accented around with a great selection of forty-two natural white colorless diamonds. Fitted at the reverse with gold posts for pierced ears and comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips. Sapphires: Mounted on top in prongs settings, with 8 calibrated oval cabochon cuts of natural intense vivid blue sapphires, with a total combined weight of about 6.80 carats.
Diamonds: Mounted around in French pave settings, with 40 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, with a total combined weight of about 2.80 carats, white colorless E color, VS clarity.
Diamonds: Mounted in the centers in four-prongs settings, with 2 well matched round brilliant cut diamonds, with a total combined weight of about 0.25 carats, white colorless E color, VS clarity.
Birthstone: Sapphires for the month of September.

Hallmarks: They are both stamped with French marks; the eagle's head marks for the warranty and assay of the 18kt yellow gold, the atelier maker's mark Ste. EB inside a lozenge cartouche and signed as follows, "CARTIER PARIS .750".
