-Cartier 1974 Aldo Cipullo Geometric Earrings In 18Kt Yellow Gold With Green & Black Jade
Pair of ear-clips designed by Aldo Cipullo (1936-1984) for Cartier.
Exceptional pair of sculptural ear-clips made in New York city by the jewelry designer Aldo Cipullo. This rare geometric earrings was created during the collaboration period with the jewelry house of Cartier (1969-1975) as a designer. This pair of earrings are from the iconic "Circles" collection, and they were carefully crafted in solid 18 karats yellow gold with high polished finish. The yellow gold parts hug a circular element, carved from natural green jade which is gripped from the back by two screws. They are fitted with comfortable hinged French omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of posts for pierced ears can be easily done.
Jade: Mounted, with 2 round flat pieces carved from natural green jade.
Black Jade: Mounted in bezel settings, with 6 squared sugarloaf cabochon cut (8 x 8 x 4.5 mm) of natural black jade, with a weight of about 8.5 carats.
Weight: 41.30 grams (26.47 Dwt).
Measurements: Diameter of 30 mm (1.18 inches).
Hallmarks: They are both stamped at the reverse, with the maker's mark, the serial numbers, the date of production, the gold assay mark and signed, "CARTIER 1974 ©A. CIPULLO 18 KT HYA437".
Aldo Cipullo
He was an Italian born jeweler. He born and was raise in a family of designers with jewelry traditions, his father was the owner of a jewelry factory and his brother Renato Cipullo made jewelry designs for Christian Dior. Aldo, was the creator of the popular and iconic Cartier bracelets, love and the nail, still until today considered ones of the best designs of the 20th century. He work as a designer in New York, for David Webb (1960-1969) and Cartier (1969-1975). In 1975 he found his own company as a freelance designer.

Condition: The overall condition of these earrings are excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The gemstones are secured in the settings. This pair has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
