Cartier 1970 Aldo Cipullo Rare Geometric Toi Et Moi Ring In 18Kt Gold With Squared Gemstones
Beautiful geometric ring designed by Aldo Cipullo for Cartier.
A very rare vintage Toi et Moi by pass ring created by Aldo Cipullo in the 1970's during the collaboration period with the house of Cartier (1969-1975) as a designer.
It was crafted in solid 18 karats of high polished yellow gold and bezel set with two cubic squared gems pieces (8 x 8 x 6 mm). The gemstones are carved from natural black onyx and pink rhodochrosite.
The total weight of this ring is 11.5 grams and the actual size is 5.5 to 6, sizable.
Stamped ,with the serial numbers, the gold assay hallmarks and signed, "CARTIER 18 kt 30793".
Aldo Cipullo (1942-1984), was an Italian born jeweler. He born and was raise in a family of designers with jewelry traditions, his father was the owner of a jewelry factory and his brother Renato Cipullo made jewelry designs for Christian Dior. Aldo, was the creator of the popular and iconic Cartier bracelets, love and the nail, still until today considered ones of the best designs of the 20th century. He work as a designer in New York, for David Webb (1960-1969) and Cartier (1969-1975). In 1975 he found his own company as a freelance designer.

Rhodochrosite, draws its name from two Greek words, rhodon meaning rose and chroma meaning color. This legendary stone dates back at to the ancient Inca civilization. Upon discovering the gem in a cave in Argentina, the Incas incorporated the beautiful pink crystals into jewelry. Actually, Rhodochrosite is Argentina’s national gemstone. Colorado officially named rhodochrosite as its state mineral in 2002. It is sometimes called "Rosa del Inca", "Inca Rose" or Rosinca.

Condition: The overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. Both gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
