*Cartier Paris 1970 by Dinh Van rare geometric cocktail ring in 18 kt yellow gold
A geometric cocktail ring designed by Jean Dinh Van for Cartier.
This exceptional sculpture and portable work of art, was designed exclusively for Cartier in Paris in 1970. It was crafted in solid 18-karat yellow gold and finished with highly polished surfaces.
The sophisticated design synthesizes the architectural geometric style that characterizes Dinh Van. The daring piece incorporates a composition of two asymmetric cylinders, of different heights. Both cylinders face each other slightly out of phase and are attached to the circular rod. The tallest rises 46 mm and the shortest 29 mm.
Have a total weight of this ring is 30.6 grams and the actual size is 6, cannot be enlarged. The top view measure are 22.5 mm by 15 mm.
It is signed, serially numbered and stamped with the hallmarks, "Cartier Dinh Van 18 Kt c. 83532".
Jean Dinh Van is a French designer that began is successful career in the 1960 designing for the French jewelry houses of Cartier and Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible. Dinh Van pieces are very fashionable, sophisticate and easy to wear, also can be displayed as a small toys, sculptures and "Objets du Vertu".
