Cartier 1960 George L'Enfant Zodiac Virgo Pendant In 18Kt Yellow Gold
Virgo zodiac pendant made by George L'Enfant for Cartier.
Very rare piece created in Paris France at the atelier of George L'Enfant for the house of Cartier. Carefully crafted depicting the zodiacal image of Virgo (August 23 September 23) in very high relief. Made up in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and fitted with an oval movable bale to wear in a chain.
The feminine figure depicted in the obverse is for Astraia the Greek Goddess of Justice & the Constellation Virgo.
Weight: 28.95 Grams, (18.56 Dwt).
Measurements: 43 mm by 28 mm (1.68 x 1.10 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the eagle's head for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold, the maker's maitre mark GL associated to George L'Enfant, the serial numbers and signed, "CARTIER PARIS .750 32053".
Note: The jewelry atelier of George L'Enfant, was located in Paris, at 47 rue Des Petits-Champs.
Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
