*Cartier 1940 Paris fabulous eagle brooch in textured 18 kt yellow gold
Fabulous eagle brooch designed by Cartier.
A rare and unusual Cartier piece, made in Paris, France after the war, circa1940's. This brooch shows an flying eagle in attack position with the wings and the claws open, ready to capture a prey. It has a strong reminiscence to the North-American national symbol. This piece is completely made in highly textured solid yellow gold of 18 karats.
Suited at the reverse, with a hinged horizontal pin bar with a trombone lock and a hinged slash for extra security.
The total weight of this piece is 25.2 grams and have a measures of 89 mm (3.5 inches) by 55 mm (2.16 inches).
Is stamped with French hallmarks; two times with the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the 18 kt gold, two times with the Cartier maker's maitre cartouche and signed in full, "CARTIER PARIS".
as a note, this piece is in perfect condition with remains of al the aged rich patina.
Is presented in a Cartier designer's new jewelry box.
