*Cartier 1960 Rare Cubism geometric cocktail ring in 18 kt yellow gold with carved lapis lazuli
Rare geometric cocktail ring designed by Cartier.
An important and historical piece created in New York city, back in the late 1960's. Designed as a wearable cubism little sculpture, with an interesting pattern of volumetric elements. It was crafted in solid 18 karats of yellow and white gold and the volumes surfaces are treated, with high polished and brushed finish.
The shank is cushioned shape and the top part is composed by 13 three-dimensional volumes, with different raises, 5 of them are embellished at top with squared cuts elements, carved from natural lapis lazuli.
Have a total weight of 13.95 grams and the actual size is 5, Sizeable. The top view measures are 23 mm by 20 mm and raise 14 mm over the finger.
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the serial numbers, the gold assay hallmarks and signed in full, “CARTIER 18 K. 40049”.
Note: We cannot track any other similar ring like this, just a few works by Roger Lucas, Aldo Cipullo and Dinh Van have some similarities.
