Geometric clip-earrings designed by Haroldo Burle Marx (1911-1991).

Beautiful vintage geometric pieces, created in Brazil by the artists-jeweler Haroldo Burle Marx. This pair of clips-earrings was carefully crafted in the early 1970's in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with the surfaces finished with the characteristic Marx's Florentine pattern. They are suited, with omega backs for fastening clips and the posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.

The design of this pieces are rounds and each one exhibit in the surface, the geometric deconstruction of a circle. They are an exceptional and wearable sculptural art-pieces from the Brazilian concretism art movement.

They has a combined weight of 20.8 Grams and a diameter of 29.5 mm (1.14 Inches).

Both are stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "BM 791 .750".

This piece have an obvious collaboration between three big names of the Brazilian arts; Haroldo Burle Marx (1911-1991) the designer and jeweler with galleries in brazil and Washington DC., Bruno Guidi the master chief goldsmith and lead designer of Burle Marx and finally Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994), Haroldo's brother, designer and a landscape architect.

Deconstruction is a form of criticism first used by the French philosopher Jacques Derrida in the 1970s which asserts that there is not one single intrinsic meaning to be found in a work, but rather many, and often these can be conflicting. the term does not inherently refer to the style's deconstructed visuals as the English adjective suggests, but instead derives from the movement's foundations in contrast to the Russian constructivist movement during the first worlds war that "broke the rules" of classical architecture through the French language.
