This is an extraordinary piece of jewelry, created during the art deco period, back in the 1930. This beautiful necklace is very versatile and can be converted into a pendant or a brooch. Has been exceptionally crafted in solid platinum .900/.999 and embellished with a great selection of natural earth mined gemstones. Fitted at the reverse, with a hinged double pin bar with a pair of security hooks to wear as a brooch and on top, with a movable bale to wear alone as a pendant just in a long chain.
Aquamarine: Mounted in the center in four-prongs setting, with an emerald rectangular step cut (26 x 20 x 15 mm) of a natural Brazilian vivid intense blue aquamarine of 57.68 carats.
Diamonds: All 94 diamonds are European round cut, gem quality, graduated in size and matched in color, white colorless E/F and VS-1 / VS-2 clarity. They are perfectly mounted in four-prongs and pave millegrain settings, with a combined weight of 4.85 carats.
Diamonds: The necklace chain is removable and is mount in bezel settings, with 20 round brilliant cut diamonds, with 1.80 carats white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity.
Weight: 45.65 Grams, (29,26 Dwt).
Measurements: The double chain is 18 Inches (45.72 Cm) and the pendant itself is 38 mm by 63 mm (1.49 x 2.48 Inches).
Hallmarks: Tested for Platinum .900/.999 PL and Iridium .100/.999 IR.
Note: The aquamarine displayed in this piece, is vivid blue, transparent, loupe clean and very well cut with no evidence of heat treatment. Some of the finest aquamarines gemstones like this are only found in Brazil. In fact, it was in the Santa Maria de Itabira mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil, where the original aquamarine gemstone possessing a unique deeply saturated blue hue was discovered. Thus, stones with such a color are exceedingly rare now dubbed ‘Santa Maria,’ regardless of their origin.
