An art deco serpent cocktail ring with gemstones.

This is a fabulous colorful antique cocktail ring created in France during the art-deco period, back in the 1925. The one-of-a-kind ring is gorgeous, with great eye appeal and was carefully crafted in the shape of a snake in three dimensions in solid platinum with a movable tongue accented with applications of black enamel. The body is embellished with a great selection of forty-seven earth mined natural gemstones, such; white colorless diamonds, Colombian vivid green emeralds and Burmese intense red rubies, with all the gem's settings, finished with the iconic art-deco millegrain patterns.

Historically, serpents and snakes represent fertility or a creative life force. As snakes shed their skin through sloughing, they serve as symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing. The ouroboros is a symbol of eternity and continual renewal of life.
