A geometric bold chain designed by Arne Johansen (1927-2004).
Gorgeous representative piece of the Scandinavian design, created in Denmark by the artist silversmith Arne Johansen, back in the 1970. This long sautoir chain was crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver and is composed by a combination of 24 rectangular volumes (15 x 5 x 5 mm) and 25 rectangular wired links. with a double hook as a closure system.
It is pretty heavy, with a total weight of 126.6 Grams and a lenght of 29.5 Inches (75 Cm).
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the sterling assay hallmark and signed, "AJ 925 S DENMARK".
Arne Johansen, was born in 1927 and was a master of the modernist design, qualified as a silversmith in 1951 and started his workshop in Roskilde in 1954. His whole family became involved in the production and sale of jewelry until 1993. His work is inspired by the Bauhaus and characterized by the simplicity of sharp line, elegant design, the substantial weight of the silver, and the expertise of the craftsmanship.
