Beautiful pair of earrings designed by Angela Cummings.
Very chic and youthful pair of clips-earrings, created at the Cummings studio in New York city, back in the 1987. This rare vintage pieces are made as a mirrored pair and crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces finish.
They are suited at the reverse, with comfortable omega backs for fastening clips and if desired the posts option for pierced ears can be easily added,.
They are designed as a pair of 4 petals flowers, while could be interpreted also as a 4-leaf lucky clovers.
Have a total weight of 23.6 grams and a measures of of 38 mm by 25 mm (1.50 x 0.98 inches).
Both are stamped at the reverse, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "18 K 1987 CUMMINGS”
Angela Cummings was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
A very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
