Angela Cummings 1984 Sculptural Clip Earrings in 18kt Yellow Gold With Carved Carnelian
Geometric earrings designed by Angela Cummings.
Rare and beautiful three-dimensional pieces, created in New York city by Angela Cummings, back in the early 1980's. These modernist undulated clips-earrings has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polish finish. They are suited with posts (Removable) for pierced ears and comfortable hinged French omega backs for fastening clips.
They are fully embellished, with three horizontal linear inlaid elements carved from natural translucent reddish carnelian.
Weight: Combined of 21.90 Grams (14.03 Dwt).
Measurements: 26 mm by 21 mm (1.02 x 0.83 Inches).
Hallmark: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the gold assay mark and signed, "©ANGELA CUMMINGS .750".
Angela Cummings was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
A very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
