Gorgeous and youthful organic pieces, created back in the 1984 at the Cummings studio in New York city. This one-of-a-kind pair, was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with very high polished surfaces. It is composed by four orchids petals elements and The design has a reminiscence to the American artist Georgia O'Keeffe and her Lily and orchids paintings.
Have a total weight of 20.5 grams and a measures of 30 mm by 24 mm (1.18 by 0.95 Inches).
Both are stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmarks and signed in full, "ANGELA CUMMIMGS 18 KT 1984 ".
Angela Cummings was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
A very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
Note: This model was also produced in sterling silver but with larger petals. Just a few was made in solid 18 kt yellow gold like this. We can't track any other one like this.
