AN IMPRESSIVE ANCIENT GREECE GOLD STATER COIN, STRUCK AT THE KALLATIS CITY IN THE 3th CENTURY BC (Ca. 250-225 BC). WAS STRUCK IN THE NAME OF THE MACEDONIAN KING, ALEXANDER III "THE GREAT" (336-323 BC).
Obv Description: THE PORTAIT HEAD OF ATHENA, AS A GODDESS OF WARFARE, FACING TO THE RIGHT, WITH LONG HAIR, WEARING A BEADED NECKLACE AND A MACEDONIAN TRIPLE-CRESTED HELMET WITH A COIL SERPENT.
Rev Description: THE DRAPED WINGED FIGURE OF VICTORY, STANDING TO THE RIGHT, HOLDING A THROPY "STILIS" AT THE LEFT HAND AND A VICTORIOUS CROWN OF LAURELS AT THE RIGHT HAND. AT THE RIGHT FIELD, VERTICALLY, THE NAME OF ALEXANDER IN GREEK LETTERS, ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡ (Αλέξανδρος), AT THE LEFT FIELD THE LETTER K FOR KALLATIS (MANGALIA, ROMANIA), ON BENEATH THE MONOGRAM ATP.
THE COIN HAVE A WEIGHT OF 8.57 Grams AND THE STRIKE IS EXCEPTIONAL, NICE MEDAL ALLIGMENT WITH ZERO AXIS, FULLY WELL CENTERED, WITH VERY HIGH RELIEFS AND SUPERB DETAILS WITH A BEAUTIFUL FACE.
THE OVERALL CONDITION IS EF+/EF+ OR BETTER. HAVE REMAINS OF THE ORIGINAL MINT LUSTER ON BOTH SIDES AND TECHNICALLY THE COIN IS IN MINT STATE, AS STRUCK.
