Modernist ring designed by Owe Johansson.

Fabulous modernist ring, created in Finland by the artist silversmith Owe Johansson, back in the 1972. This ring has been crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with high polished finish. The upper domed part is convex and is decorated with a natural earth mined pyrite gemstone, creating a great contrast with the polished surfaces. This substantial statement ring with a fabulous eye catcher.

Pyrite: Mount in a bezel setting, with 1 round rough cabochon cut of 15.5 mm carved from blue sodalite with about 9 carats.

Birthstone: Pyrite for the month of August.

Weight: 18.75 Grams, (12.05 Dwt).

Size: 9 and may be sized on special request.

Measurements: Diameter of 40 mm (1.57 Inches) and raise 15 mm over the finger.

Hallmarks: Stamped with Finnish marks, the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the silver, the date code for the year 1972 and signed in full, "OWE JOHANSSON HGL MADE IN FINLAND 0.925H T-7".

Owe Johansson

Owe Johansson (born 1939) is a Swedish silversmith. He grew up in southern Närke and trained as a silversmith in Pforzheim, Germany. Johansson started his first silversmith in 1965 in Sigtuna. His breakthrough came at the National museum's exhibition "Young Swedish Silver" in 1968. Since then, he has worked in Varberg and Ystad, among other places. Johansson has also worked with industrial design and enamel. Owe Johansson's work is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm, the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, the Halland Art Museum, the National Art Collections in Prague, as well as with several private collectors such as King Gustaf VI Adolf and King Carl XVI Gustaf's silver collections. He has received the State Artist Grant twice and has been awarded several international honorary legacies.

ConditionThe overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The pyrite secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
