Very handsome and handy liquor flask bottle, created in Sheffield England by the silversmith James Dixon & Sons, back in the 1904. This beautiful large liquor flask has been crafted in solid sterling silver of .925/.999, clear glass and crocodile leather. Fitted on top with a screwed hinged lid and a brand-new replaced seal cork.

Measurements: 159 mm by 82.6 mm by 36 mm (6.25 x 3.25 x 1.42 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with British crown marks; the mark of the lion head for the city of Sheffield, the maker's mark associated to James Dixon & Sons, the gothic letter M inside a cartouche for the production year of 1904, the mark for the assay and warranty of the silver and signed and signed as follows, "JD&S M".
James Dixon & Sons
The company was founded in 1806 in Sheffield, was one of the major British manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution. They were manufacturers of pewterware, electroplated Britannia metal, silverware and electroplated nickel silver. Their products included hundreds of items for use in the kitchen (e.g. bowls, cutting-tools) and the dining room (e.g. tea services, cocktail shakers and mixers) as well as items such as candlesticks. They were a world leader in manufacturing shooting accessories through nineteenth century and exported powder flasks in large quantities to America, they were known as whistle makers, which like most of their products were of outstanding quality; they were one of the 4 great whistle makers, the others being W Dowler & Sons, J Stevens & Son & T Yates. It was located first at Silver Street (1806), Cornish Place (1822) Sheffield.
