-German Pforzheim 1917 Guilloche Enamel Round Box In .935 Sterling Silver With Flowers

A guilloche enameled round box.

An exceptional early 20th century enameled round box, created in Pforzheim Germany during the art nouveau period, back in the 1915-17. This beautiful box was carefully crafted with impeccable details in solid .935/.999 standard silver with gold gilt interiors finish. Made of circular form with a three barrels hinged lid raised by a simple thumbpiece. Engine turned guilloche decoration topped with applications of translucent light blue enamel and embellished with four violets flowers. Engraved at the bottom, with the previous owner monogram LRH, incissed in the silver and dedicated in the interior lid, From E. R. C. 1917. 

Weight: 91.60 Grams, (58.72 Dwt).

Measurements: Diameter of 73 mm and a height of 25.3 mm (2.87 x 1.0 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the German marks of the crescent moon and the crown, the mark for the assay of the .935 silver and signed, "STERLING SILVER GERMANY .935".

Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.
