Catherine Noll

She was the granddaughter of French designer Alexandre Knoll, a renowned sculptor & furniture designer. Her career began while she was in art school at les Beaux Arts in the early 1970’s shortly after her grandfather’s passing. She was to inherit his Atelier, and she has been said to have also inherited her grandfather’s talent. Mr. Knoll had left behind a studio full of tools and exotic wood, from ebony to mahogany and beyond. Her works “echoed Alexander’s designs, as they were also hand sculpted and organically formed, yet always maintained a refined elegance.” It’s clear that Catherine cared for the use of natural materials, similarly, seen in the influence of tribal and primitive art, while also “maintaining a very sleek modern and artistic sensibility.” Some of the organic materials used in her works included ebony, ivory, horn, lapis lazuli, gold and bronze. She participated in three Bijou (Jewelry) Triennale in Paris and also designed jewelry collections for Nina Ricci, Chanel, Christian Dior, Baccarat and Bergdorf Goodman.

Collateral: These earrings are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

ConditionThe overall condition of these Catherine Knoll earrings is excellent. Besides the little normal wear, there is no damage to the wood. All parts are secured in their settings. This pair has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
