+Victorian 1880 Oval Desk Box In .925 Sterling Silver With Brown Faux Tortoise Shell

A Victorian oval desk box.

Beautiful and very attractive desk box, created in London England during the Victorian era (1837-1901), back in the 1888. This rare box was crafted with an oval shape in faux tortoise shell and mountings settings made up with gilded sterling silver of .930/.999. Fitted with a strong hinge and a push boxed lock with the interiors perfectly refurbished with navy blue velvet. The lid is closing properly and well centered and is not deformed. 

Weight: 252.6 Grams, (161.9 Dwt).

Measurements: 196.8 mm by 146 mm by 38.1 mm (7.75 x 5.75 X 1.5 Inches).

Hallmarks: The gilded silver parts are stamped with British London marks, the maker's mark, the silver assay mark, the letter N for the production year of 1888 and signed, "CD".

Condition: The overall condition of this box is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to any part. All surfaces are perfect and polished and this piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
