Rare piece made in the city of Porto in Portugal during the art deco period, circa 1930's. This gorgeous elegant woven chain was crafted with impeccable details in solid yellow gold of 19.2 karats, with textured finish and fitted with an integrated crab lock.
Weight: 36.8 grams (23.58 Dwt).
Measures: Length of 30 inches (76.2 cm).
Hallmarks: Stamped with Portuguese control marks; the cat's head with the 800 for the assay and the guaranty of the 19.2 kt gold, the cartouche mark for the city of Porto and the maker's letters.
Note: The gold mark used in Portugal from 1938-1984 depict a cat's head with a tongue sticking out. inside a rectangular frame. This means it was crafted in the city of Porto. Ref: Page 212 of world hallmarks.

This is a very unusual piece and a great collector's item. It is in impeccable condition, with all the antique patina intact. The crab lock is the original from the period and has been finished, with the same textured pattern of the chain.
