MASONIC 1890 Art-Nouveau Enameled Vesta Matches Box In Repousse .925 Sterling
An antique vesta box with enameled Masonic motifs.
This is an amazing and rare vesta matches box, created in America with Masonic motifs, back in the 1890-95. The vesta box has been crafted in solid sterling silver with embossed and repoussé of garlands and volutes. The box is decorated with the Masonic plaque, which is embellished with applications of blue and white enamel. The craftsmanship and condition is exceptional with little trace of wear, very sharp and crisp with beautiful, aged patina. Fitted with a tree-barrels hinge and a snap closure system.
Period: Art-Nouveau, 1890-1895.
