LA CAPTIVE 1930 Art Deco Enameled Squeeze Travel Clock In .925 Sterling Silver

Art deco La Captive enameled travel-purse clock.

Beautiful and very unusual squeeze concealed "La Captive" travel-clock, created in Switzerland back in the 1928-1930. This rare travel-purse clock has been crafted with a rectangular shape in solid .925/.999 sterling silver. It is embellished with applications of blue and black enamel and fitted with two lateral pushers to squeeze and open for display. This piece is a very charmingly-sized, the watch is concealed behind a clever mechanism that hides the dial behind two silver shutters that are operated by two pushers on either side.

Dial: Square in light silvered, analog with Arabic numbers and silvered steel Breguet hands, all inside a square dotted frame.

Materials: Sterling Silver, black & blue hard enamel, square glass.

Weight: 50.95 Grams, (32.70 Dwt).

Measurements: Closed is 56 mm by 33 mm by 9 mm (2.20 x 1.30 x 0.36 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with Swiss marks, the maker's mark, the serial numbers, the mark for the assay of the silver, the reference numbers and signed in full, "JC STERLING SILVER SWISS 23439 PATENT-PENDING".

Condition: The overall condition of this Captive clock is good. Beside the little normal wear, is in pretty good shape. This enamel and the piece were carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
