A travel-purse watch designed by Fauvety Paris.

This is a beautiful and colorful travel-purse watch created during the art deco period in Paris France, back in the 1925. This pocket-purse watch has been designed with chinoiserie-orientalism patterns by Fauvety-Paris and is highly collectible. The case was masterfully crafted in a cushioned shape in solid .900/.999 sterling silver and embellished with applications of yellow, red, green and black hard glass enamels. The case is fitted with a concealed hinge and a snap sliding closure system.

Fauvety-Paris

The company has the closest reference to Edouard Fauvet, who established a factory in La Courneuve, Paris, in 1914 as part of the company Arbel Fauvet. Arbel Fauvet is a French company with a history dating back to 1856, initially established by Lucien Arbel in Rive-de-Gier, France, and later involving the Deflaissieux brothers.

Dial: Rectangular white, with black Arabic numerals, golden hands and signed, Fauvety Paris Importe de Suisse.

Movement: Mechanical, hand-winding. 

Case: French made in .900/.999 sterling silver with green, blue, red and black hard-glass enamels, and fitted with a sliding snaping lock lid.

Weight: 60.2 Grams, (38.6 Dwt).

Measurements: 53 mm by 26 mm by 11 mm, (2.09 x 1.02 x 0.43 Inches).

Hallmarks: All parts and components are stamped with French marks, two times with the helmeted Minerva mark for the assay and warranty of the .900 silver, the four-digits reference numbers and signed in full as follows, "FAUVETY PARIS IMPORTE DE SUISSE 2296 BREVETTE ".
