Art Deco Catatin tube radio designed by Delco.

Very cool custom art deco Delco midget bakelite tube radio model R-1150 created in 1939. This is a 5 tube one band am set with all new capacitors and filters. All tubes were checked and replaced as needed. This great little set was aligned for better performance and all wires were checked and replaced as needed. All controls were lubed and work as they should. The case is refinished in a beautiful 2 tone misty blue with candy cobalt blue metallic with black swirls. This great little set is clear coated in a premium automotive clear and buffed to a mirror like shine that will last for years. This little set plays well picking up several stations in our area.   

This is a lovely one of a kind radio that will look great in any office or home decor. This radio is as shiny as it looks, please look at all photos and ask us any questions. Note: Catalin is a brand name for the popular thermosetting polymer developed by the American Catalin Corporation in the 1930s. It is an early plastic made from phenol formaldehyde resins. Early on, radio manufacturers had sought an economical replacement for costly wood.

ConditionThe overall condition of this radio is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the catalin plastic. All parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
