Baroque cufflinks designed by Verdura.

A classic iconic pair of cufflinks, created by the renowned jewelry designer of Verdura. These rare shell cufflinks has been first designed in the 1941 and carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with textured and high polished finish. This model was made by Verdura inspired by the clamshell lines striations and them was simply called as a shell.

Weight: Combined 30.45 Grams, (19.52 Dwt).

Measurements: 16.5 mm by 16,5 mm by 24 mm (0.65 x 0.65 x 0.95  Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the Italian assay mark for the assay and warranty of the gold, the serial numbers and signed, "VERDURA .750 VL 3052".

The Duke Fulco Di Verdura (1899-1978), start his career as a designer in Paris in 1920, Creating the iconic Maltese cross cuff bracelet for his friend Coco Chanel. In the 1934 he moved to the United States and closely collaborate with Paul Flato in California, designing jewelry for the Hollywood stars of the new movie era, including Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. In the 1939, he moved again, but this time to the city of New York and open the Verdura boutique, in the Fifth Avenue location. in that period Verdura gain the estimation of the very high-profile clientele in the new York's high society.

Note: The original shell design was created by Filco Verdura for a special cigarettes case presented to Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth in October 30, 1941 for the Columbia pictures movie premiere, "You'll Will Never Get Rich".

Collateral: They are accompanied by the designer's presentation jewelry box with the outer box included.

ConditionThe overall condition of these cufflinks are excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
