Georg Jensen 1967 By Vivianna Torun Rare Sculptural Bracelet-Watch In 18Kt Yellow Gold
A wristwatch designed by Vivianna Torun (1927-2004) for Georg Jensen.
Very rare modernist wristwatch designed by Torun in Denmark, back in the 1967. This sculptural piece was crafted with sleek aero-dynamic lines in solid yellow gold of 18 karat with very high polished finish and it is suited with an discrete pressure-push opening system.
The Vivianna bracelet watch has a dial with a mirror background in yellow gold. It consists of a continuous concave band with hinged ends and contains a manual mechanical movement manufactured by the swiss company Chopard, which is stamped for Georg Jensen with the reference number 1029. The crown is marked LUC, in reference to the initials to the manufacturer's name, Louis-Ulysses Chopard.
Has a total weight of 59.6 Grams and fit a wrist up to 7.25 Inches (18.5 Cm). The width measure of the bracelet is 6.5 mm and the diameter of the case is 33 mm (1.3 inches).
Stamped, with the post 1945 Georg Jensen maker's mark, the serial numbers, the gold assay hallmark, and signed in full, "TORUN 1227 GEORG JENSEN LUC .750 1029-65204".
Vivianna Torun Bulow-Hube, known as Torun, (1927-2004) was one of the Swedish most important jewelers of the 20th century and the most prolific designer for the Georg Jensen company. She was very famous since was the first woman silversmith in her period and promote in all her designs the anti-status jewelry. She has produced works for Georg Jensen since 1967 and all her designs are very popular and highly collectible.
This wristwatch, is very rare, since the Georg Jensen company mostly produced this model in sterling silver. The gold versions are rarely see in the after market due the very low production and usually limited to just 10 pieces or less.
Note: This watch-bracelet is the original model created in 1960, with a mechanical movement manufactured by the Chopard company exclusively for Georg Jensen
