This is an iconic ring created in New York city by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co, back in the 1970's. The exceptional ring was masterfully hand-crafted with x's patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished finish and platinum accents for the settings of the diamonds. The ring is embellished with a great assortment of sixteen natural earth mined gemstones, such vivid intense blue sapphires and white colorless VS diamonds. The ring is in impeccable condition and show no traces of wear.
Diamonds: Mounted in prongs setting, with 8 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, with an approximate total weight of about 0.80 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS clarity.
Sapphires: Mounted in prongs settings, with 8 calibrated round faceted cuts of natural vivid intense yellow sapphires with an approximate weight of about 1.20 carats.
Birthstone: Blue sapphires for the month of September.
Weight: 8.3 Grams, (5.35 Dwt).
Size: Actually is size 7.25 and may be only downsized on special request with a spring ring.
Measurements: The width is 6.8 mm (0.27 Inches) and raise 4.5 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt yellow gold and signed in full as follows, "TIFFANY & CO. .750 SCHLUMBERGER".
Jean Schlumberger
In 1956, he was asked by the president of Tiffany & Co. Walter Hovin to begin designing for the firm. He had his own workshop at the company until his retirement in the late 1970's and was eventually made vice president of the company. Schlumberger designs at tiffany were remarkable for their whimsical interpretation of natural forms. He was especially inspired by the sea creatures and other animals. He was an exceptional designer, jeweler and a master enameller.
