*Tiffany & Co. 1960 by Janna Thomas de Velarde hand clutch purse in solid textured .925 sterling silver

Clutch purse designed by Janna Thomas de Velarde for Tiffany & Co.

A rare vintage ovoid shaped clutch, made by Velarde during the mid century period, circa 1960 in Taxco, Mexico for Tiffany & Co. Carefully crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver, with free formations of highly textured patterns.

Suited with an invisible hinge and a decorated twisted slash as a lock. 

Have a weight of 577.9 grams and a measures of 180 mm by 89 mm by 57 mm (7.12 x 3.5 x 2.25 inches).

Stamped, with the maker's mark, the sterling silver assay hallmark and signed, "JANNA VELARDE STERLING .925 TIFFANY".

Note: Pieces from Janna Thomas Velarde are very rare to see and seldom offered. Her pieces are highly collectible and her works has been exclusively retailed in New York by Tiffany & Co. and Cartier. 

It is in perfect condition with all the aged patina intact.
