*Liu Fang Hong Kong 22 kt earrings with genuine ancient Tang Dynasty 618-906 AD Foo-Dogs in 24 kt
A rare pair of earrings designed by Liu Fang.
A modern contemporary earrings designed by the Hong Kong based jeweler-artist Liu Fang. They was crafted, with 18 kt yellow gold frames and mounted with a pair of genuine ancient Chinese elements made in pure gold. Suited at the reverse with posts (Removable) for pierced ears and omega backs for fastening clips.
The main elements are a matching pair of ancient decorative buttons from the Chinese Tang Dynasty 618-906 AD. They are extremely well made, repose and chiseled in high relief of pure yellow gold of 24 karats, depicting the impressive faces of Foo-Dogs.
The total weight of this pair is 13.9 grams and have a diameter of 29 mm (1.14 Inches). They are bombe shaped and Raise 12 mm over the earlobe.
They are both stamped, with the designer cartouche mark L-F and the assay hallmark ".750".
Foo-Dogs, are actually lions. They originated in china, Shi meaning lion or Sishi or stone lion. Foo Dogs are symbolic, protective statues, one is female and one is male. The female represents the Yin and symbolically protect the people dwelling in the home, while the male represent the Yang, he protect the structure itself.
Liu Fang, is a jeweler designer, a resident artist in Hong Kong. the main focus of all her designs are the re-use of valuable ancient archaeological parts from different cultures around the world and any period, reinventing their use in new jewelry pieces.
