Stamped, with the maker's mark and the gold assay hallmark, "MAZ 18 KT".

Mazza, their involvement with the jewelry industry dates back almost two centuries in a small town just south of Naples called Torre del Greco. Starting in the 1840’s the Mazza family worked with coral and conch shells for cameos, which they harvested and hand carved in Italy. At the turn of the century Louis Mazza left Europe to import gems and Mazza carvings to the United States. In the years from 1950 to 1960 his four sons joined the business as it expanded. The third son, William, worked closely with the major designers, honing his own creative skills, and in 1970 produced his first collection for I. Magnum & Co. and Bergdorf Goodman under the Mazza name.

Collateral: This piece is accompanied by the Gia laboratory report number 6223187236, stating the emerald is natural, with Colombian origin and transparent.

Note: This emerald gemstone, was mined in the region of the Coscuez mine in Colombia. Has a perfect even color saturation, with no open windows, has great Cristal transparency with a substantial size.

Note: The Muzo-Coscuez emerald district, is a town and municipality in western Boyacá province, in Colombia. Contains several mines, although the Muzo mine is undoubtedly the best known, the Coscuez mine is rapidly gaining significance as a major source of fine emeralds. Yet few in the trade outside of Colombia are aware of the importance of Coscuez or know about the emeralds mined there. The Coscuez mine is literally hundreds of years old, and its history is closely tied to that of Muzo. Located only about 10 km apart, the two areas also share many geologic features and both are currently exploited using open-cut mining methods. The Coscuez emeralds are similar to Muzo stones in their physical properties, but they occur in a somewhat broader range of hue and saturation.

It is in perfect condition.
