Chain D'Ancre designed by Hermes.

This is one of the most iconic pieces created by the luxury house of Hermes. This chain d'ancre bracelet was crafted in Paris France in solid sterling silver of .925/.999 with high polished finish. Composed by 11 traditional maritime links and fitted with a toggle as a closure system.

History: This story began in 1938, when Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family, decided to take inspiration from a ship anchor chain to design a bracelet. Thus the Chaîne d'ancre was born: a naturally balanced jewel with a sporty yet chic allure. The historic legend of this jewelry line was between 1931 and 1938. It was during this approximate decade that Monsieur Dumas wandered around the seaside, a small sketch book in hand. In 1937, he logged a design for an anchor chain, a substitute for the colossal ones used on boats. Some time later, he sketched the idea for a clasp resembling a subtle mix between a Brandebourg and a Kabig breton. Except that no fabricant wanted to make a silver style, preferring in those days to work only with gold or platinum. And so he confided the creation of the mock version to a bold man by the name of De Perçin.

Weight: 63.5 Grams, (40.70 Dwt).

Measurements: 7 Inches (17.75 Cm).

Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the maker's mark, the Minerva helmeted head for the assay and warranty of the silver, the maker's mark inside a lozange cartouche and signed. "HERMES MADE IN FRANCE AG.925".

Collateral: It is accompanied by the designer's presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of this bracelet is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
