An art deco guilloche enamel pills box made by Albert Carter.

Beautiful enamel round pill box, created in Birmingham England during the art deco period. This beautiful antique piece was carefully made at the workshop of Albert Carter back in the 1928. Was crafted with impeccable details in solid .925/.999 standard silver with a twist lid. Engine turned guilloche decoration topped with applications of translucent vivid blue enamel.

Weight: 9.6 Grams, (6.15 Dwt).

Measurements: Diameter of 30 mm and a height of 15 mm (1.18 x 0.59 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with England Crowns marks, the anchor mark for the city of Birmingham, the maker's mark AC, associated to Albert Carter inside a wavy contour cartouche, the mark for tha assay of the silver .925 and the letter D for the date of 1928.

He's workshop atelier was located at Frederick Street in Birmingham England and was specialized in silver making and Enamelware. Founded by Albert Carter in 1900 in Birmingham, after studying at the Birmingham central school of Arts. He gained a worldwide reputation for his enameled silverware which was of particular interest to women. He was granted a royal warrant as silversmith to the Queen.

Guilloché 

Is a term used in fine jewelry or objets de vertu to enhance the appearance of boxes, frames, brooches, rings or pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.

ConditionThe overall condition of this box is impeccable. Beside the little normal wear, there is no trace opf wear to the silver. Tenamel is secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
