*Ed Wiener 1970 New York hammered 18 kt yellow gold bracelet with geometric links

A rare bracelet designed by Ed Wiener (1918-1991).

Gorgeous modernist art-piece, created by Wiener around the 1970's at his own New York' atelier, located in 53th street & 5th avenue.

This is an unique one-of-a-kind hinged bracelet, crafted in solid 18 karats yellow gold and finished with hammered and brushed patterns. Suited with a push lock, with a pair of hinged 8's slashes for extra security.

Ed Wiener (1918-1991), began his career in the artist's circles of the post-Bauhaus. Was very active at Provincetown and the Greenwich village in New York. Work immediately in the early days of the abstract expressionist movement of the post-war period, late 1940's. His most famous customers was the sculptor Louise Nevelson and Martha Graham, the dancer. He worked extensively in sterling silver until the beginning of the 1950 when he made a lot of sculptural pieces of jewelry in gold with precious gemstones.

Have a total weight of 56.95 grams and a length of 7 inches. The width measure is 17 mm.

Is stamped with the Ed Wiener maker's logo, signed and the assay hallmarks, "ED WIENER .750".

This is an amazing and rare collector's piece.
